Only one week until Christmas, hopefully you already finished with the preparations. I used the sunny weather in New Zealand to go to Riccarton House & Bush and Mona Vale.

It seems so, that annoying my supervisors a bit, really helped a lot. I got shuffled into another team, I’m still not free from pest plant, but I have to do other activities. I could use the weed eater as well. Moreover, in this crew we do small jobs, which last for a maximum of 4h and therefore I see many places. Now it can happen that I work on 13+ sites in a week and not be banished on only one; and that’s really good for me.

Riccarton House & Bush

I concluded my more exciting work week with a walk to Riccarton House & Bush and to Mona Vale Park. The Saturday weather was perfect as you can guess from the crowd at the Farmers’ Market in Riccarton. It was really stuffed and the goods ranged from fresh fruits and vegetables, oils, pastries to warm meals. But I was really impressed from the quietness of the Bush Walk, which only started a few meters besides the market. Only ten meters into the woods and you will only hear the chirping of birds. After an approximate 30-minute circular round way you find yourself back at the rumbling crowd. Afterwards I continued my walk to Mona Vale.

Here you will be surrounded from the tranquil peace. Even though you’re still in the city you cannot hear the streets at all. In this wonderful park you can watch various birds and you will be surrounded from the smell of blossoms. If you want to treat yourself visit the Café and relax besides the Avon.

As always, you can view more pictures in the gallery.
