Weekly report
My job is as exciting as ever, but this time I got the chance to work around Lyttelton. Therefore, had to enjoy a nice view most of the time.

On Thursday I was invited to attend the rehearsal from the Garden City Orchestra , which was the final one before their concert. I was honestly not expecting too much from it, because it’s only an amateur group, but was really positively surprised. A complete string section, a concert harp and a moderate brass. The performance program was also not the easiest. Fortunately, I was playing in the military band and therefore got no problems at all. Because of my performance I got invited to play along for their concert on Saturday. On stage I got handed out new sheet music again and had to transpose in C from sight, but still not a problem. The horn section is naturally the coolest and most fun and enjoyed a good time together. Moreover, my contact details were handed out to the principal horn player in the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra and if I’m lucky, maybe I will play as reserve alongside them.
Willowbank Wildlife Reserve
My initial plan was to visit Timaru this weekend, but because of the concert this was impossible. I’m running out of pictures and therefore I took a walk through the Willowbank Wildlife Reserve It’s a nice zoo with a relatively good variety. Naturally there is a kiwi house and especially kids get the chance to pet the animals in a larger section. Nothing else to add, I got my picture and what happens next weekend is unknown.

I definitely will enjoy the sunny advent, even without advent calendar.
